THE ANOINTING AND YOUR SKILLS

Many of you are familiar with the story of how David killed Goliath, and every time we read that passage of the Scripture, we see how the greatness of God was revealed through ordinary stone and sling to slay a great giant who has killed many soldiers in battles, but there’s another version of this story that many preachers are not preaching today. You see, it was not only the Anointing of God upon David that made him kill Goliath, the warrior skills of David was also inclusive. David had spent many hours and days in the forest practicing how to hit a target from a far distance with a stone and sling…I’m sure there are many occasions where he failed but kept on trying until he became perfect in the skill

How do I know that David was a stone sling warrior even before he faced Goliath?, The Bible told us about certain elite groups of warriors in the tribe of Benjamin who can sling a stone from a very far distance to kill an enemy, and the Bible says they never miss their target, David must have been inspired by these ancient warriors and took time to train himself in the wilderness to become like them

Among Benjamin’s elite troops, 700 were left-handed, and each of them could sling a rock and hit a target within a hairsbreadth without missing.

Judges 20:16 NLT

When King Saul was trying to discourage David from facing Goliath, he narrated to him how he had successfully killed a Lion and a Bear in the forest who tried to hunt his father’s sheep, and rescued the sheep from its mouth. My point here is that, any man or woman you see out there today doing so well in ministry or God is using him or her so mightily didn’t just rise up there overnight, such a person is not just a man of great power and anointing, he is also a man of perfected warrior skills. Everything is not about being anointed, there’s a place of practice, training experience and perfection that must first be attained before such individual can now succeed under the anointing

1 Samuel 17: 33. And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34. And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35. And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

Let us stop deceiving ourselves, God is not a magician, God is a God of order, principles and standards, His Kingdom is highly organized and things don’t just happen without following the divine rule through which they must happen. I believe so much in miracles, and I know God to be a God of great and mighty miracles, but I also know that God has refused to perform miracles through many of his anointed ministers today because they had not yet gone through the training He wants them to go through—Because those miracles must happen the way God wants them to happen and being anointed is not enough to make them happen

When God told me to begin a prayer ministry online, He also mentioned to me saying “I did not call you just to pray for people who need prayers, I have also raised you up so that you can make a lot of My people prayer warriors”. Believe me, Prayer and Fasting and several other spiritual exercises are WARRIOR SKILLS that you must learn and grow in them to the point where you start using them through faith to get so many victories in the Spiritual realm which becomes miracles or testimonies in the physical realm.

Therefore, I take time to show people what they can do by themselves to provoke heaven to open and make God intervene speedily in their situations to help them because I myself had been through several challenging situations where I used these same skills and it worked for me, and I’ve seen it worked for others too.

You see, you can carry a great calling and anointing upon you and still be so much limited in manifestation and destiny, and the reason is because you have not been trained in warrior skills. God reward diligence (hard work), He doesn’t reward laziness, the way the anointing will manifest through someone who has learnt to praise and worship God for more than 10 hours will definitely be greater than someone who can’t even spend up to 30 minutes worshipping God

For instance, Why should we be praying for a vehicle not to have an accident when we put a driver who has never learnt how to drive in the vehicle, we definitely are going to put the lives of everyone in that vehicle in danger. I so much believe in Grace, in fact, I am what I am today by God’s grace, however, the Grace of God does not just come to your aid, there are things you must do, even the grace of God will teach you skills and principles, and the Bible also talks about growing in Grace

2 Peter 3: 18. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

In conclusion, this same truth cut across every walk of life, whenever you look at yourself, what talent or ability do you think God has placed inside you from birth?, Why not explore that gift or talent inside of you and develop yourself in the gift, learn everything about the gift, including everything about those who had once operated in such gift before. If you have a career or profession at the moment, how much have you grown and advance in that career, you see, God will not help you to do what is your own responsibility to do, and the blessings you will receive from the Lord is according to how much you have advanced in your field of career and calling!

Hebrews 11: 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

???? Take note of the part that says “He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him”, meaning that, if you don’t seek him correctly and properly, you might never get any benefit from Him no matter how much tears you shed

Several people who now see the kind of success and breakthrough God has given me in my calling today might think that I am just one “perfect creature” but I do consider myself as one of the most imperfect and weak creatures that has ever lived, I have failed many times, and I have fallen many times, but in all these things I have learnt the paths of a warrior and I walked through the warrior paths and rose to become strong and victorious and successful through the Grace of God. I surrendered myself to the Lord for His training and I disciplined myself and endured pains and hardship for the Lord to bring out His best that is in me.

May you find wisdom at this time to properly get prepared and trained for the Glory God has determined to reveal through your life, calling, career and ministry in due time in Jesus name!
