WHAT IT MEANS TO WAIT ON GOD

Waiting on God means nothing different than “To wait on God or wait for God or wait in expectation for divine intervention”. However, I discovered that some believers today don’t really understand what it means to wait on God, some mistook it for “fasting” but it is actually more than fasting – To wait on God is to wait in faith and patience UNTIL you get what you are waiting for! So, this spiritual exercise has a lot to do with faith than fasting. This is because you can’t always keep fasting till you see results (though you can do that in some cases), but you can keep trusting and waiting and believing in God until you receive your MIRACLE, Fasting sometimes is like a seed that you sow for it to bring forth fruits later (meaning that fasting does not always bring instant results). So, waiting on God is more related to FAITH and TIME than applying your own efforts. The timing in heaven and the timing on earth are not the same, So, most times, Christians would have to wait on God to receive from God. Also, God uses this “waiting period” to TEST how strong our faith and trust and confidence is!

There are several places in the Scriptures that declared that those who put their trust in the Lord shall not be put to shame, Another place in Isaiah says “those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength”, the Psalmist also said “blessed are those whose their trust is in God”. So, if you really believe the Bible, you have a lot of reasons to wait on God. Also, Your waiting has a lot to do with “what God is saying to you as a person”, the Apostles waited at the upper room for many days because the Lord had told them to wait until they are endued with Power from on high, and they waited until they got the power. Maybe God has told you that He wants to use you mightily for His Kingdom on earth Or that you have a calling, Don’t you think you need to wait on God for the Grace, Power and Anointing you need to fulfill that assignment?! God expects you to be wise enough to pray and wait for things that have been prepared for you even before you were born into the world.

LASTLY, YOU NEED TO SHOW GOD SIGNS THAT YOU ARE REALLY WAITING, HEAVEN NEEDS TO SEE THAT YOUR FAITH IS STILL STRONG AND ALIVE, THAT YOU ARE STILL PRAYING, THAT YOU HAVE NOT LOST FOCUS ON GOD AND HIS WORD…And that you have not stopped waiting because it’s taking too much time for God to respond!! Amen.
