SOMETIMES, THE WAY FORWARD IS TO GO BACKWARD

Sometime ago, I was standing at a park to get a cab that will take me back home, and I stood there for a long time but the taxi vehicle never came, a lot of people were standing there with me waiting for the same vehicle, then I remembered that there was another park I had left behind because I preferred not to take a cab from there, So, I decided to walk down the same route I was coming from to the park I had left behind and as I was walking back, the Lord spoke to me saying “You see, sometimes to move forward is to move backward” and I began to get a lot of understanding about this truth the Lord had revealed to me. I saw that so many Christians today are stuck in a place and their lives, careers and callings are not moving forward because they have refused to go backwards, they think it is failure to go backward, and they think that the way forward is always forward—This is not always true, in some cases, the way forward could mean that you have to go backwards because that is what the time you are in demands.

When God brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt to take them into the promised land, He decided not to take them through the fastest and easiest way, He chose for them another path that is long, rough and difficult so that He might reveal His Power in them, to them and among them. Sometimes, we are so much focused on looking for success from high places such that we fail to understand that the same success can as well come through low places, the path to the TOP is not always in going upward, sometimes you might need to go downward, it is possible that as you go downward, you will find a great strength, treasure and wisdom that will suddenly shoot you high above all the people you have been seeing at the top. I know that it is usually painful and stressful to go backwards but some of the successful people we celebrate today actually went backwards for so much times before they finally moved forward and kept on moving…What some of you call “failure” today is not called failure in the Spirit realm, it is called “discovery”, You see, God can intentionally let you fail because He wants your eyes to be opened to something new. Do not be ashamed and afraid to go backwards, even if you have to repeat the same thing over and over again. I discovered from my experience that if I had waited at the first park, I would have wasted valuable hours of my days and yet the bus might not come eventually, therefore, some delays in your life could be as a result of you refusing to go back to the same place you had left behind (because the key to your progress is actually in that place).

I was listening to a man of God some years back and he said “if God had given you an assignment sometime ago and you refused to do it, if you really want to move forward in your Calling and Destiny, you must go back to that first assignment and start over from there (and this is if you still find mercy with God)”, the man said if you think you can skip what you should have done for God in time past and yet move forward in ministry, you might be making a terrible mistake except if God had disregarded the first assignment—I believe this to be true because there are some mistakes in our pasts that we must go back to correct before we can move forward, and the longer we fail to correct them, the longer our progress will be delayed, and the more our years shall be wasted. Some of us still need to go back and become a student (to learn) even though we are now a teacher of thousands, but it appears as if we are too proud to humble ourselves to learn from people we feel are too low to our status.

Are you considering what people will say when they see you going backwards?, Well, what I know is that, people only celebrate successful people and it doesn’t matter what they are saying now because once you succeeded, the same people shall celebrate you (even if they had once mocked you), therefore, it’s not about what people will say now, it’s about what your success and progress will make them say eventually. I am a kind of person that hates to be limited in life and destiny, if God tells me to stop doing something that currently appears to be successful so as to gain a GREATER SUCCESS, I am more than ready to stop it—Because I have learnt that the way forward is not always by going forward.

SOME OF YOU NEED TO TERMINATE THE RELATIONSHIP YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN BEFORE YOU CAN MOVE FORWARD, SOME OF YOU NEED TO CLOSE DOWN A BUSINESS TO START A NEW ONE, SOME OF YOU NEED TO REAPPLY AGAIN FOR THE JOBS YOU HAVE ONCE BEEN DENIED…SOME OF YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HAVE LEARNT A LONG TIME AGO!!
YES, SOME OF YOU NEED TO LEAVE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRIES LIKE AMERICA, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA, ETC AND GO BACK TO YOUR HOMETOWN WHERE YOU WILL FIND THE REAL PATH OF DESTINY…I KNOW YOU REALLY WANT TO RISE TO THE TOP BUT ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE FOR THE RISING?—EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO THE UNEXPECTED?!!!
