SIGNS OF AN APOSTLE

You know, a lot of people today seriously want to be an apostle, and I know that majority of these people are being compelled by PRIDE simply because they saw the calling of an Apostle as the “highest call”. However, if these people really know what it means to be an apostle, I am sure many of them will back off immediately. Remember that in Matt. 20 from verse 21, the mother of James and John (part of Jesus’ twelve disciples) came to Jesus and begged him to install her two sons to sit at his right and left hand in His Kingdom…But the response Jesus gave them shows us a glimpse of what the calling of an Apostle entails…Jesus asked the two disciples if they were ready to drink from the cup he shall drink of and be baptized with the baptism he shall be baptized with…and I wonder if many so called apostles of today have actually drank from this cup the early apostles drank from, let alone got baptized with the kind of baptism that came upon them!

You see, all the disciples of Jesus did not actually knew what it meant to be an apostle until after Jesus had been taken away from them, this was when they practically began to drink of the cup Jesus talked about earlier…So, I will carefully list out some signs I know are signs of an Apostle:

1) THE CUP OF SORROWS, TROUBLES, AFFLICTIONS AND SUFFERINGS. When Isaiah was speaking of Jesus in Isaiah 53, he called him “Man of sorrow and of grief”, and when Jesus was speaking of the calling of Apostle Paul, He said “I will show him how much he MUST suffer…”, some people are of the belief that apostle Paul suffered a lot in ministry because God was punishing him for persecuting His people earlier, but this is not true, Paul was only drinking from the cup of his apostleship and he drank it with full humility and joy. An apostle is someone whose ministry will not only cause troubles but must love troubles, he’s someone whose ministry will generate a lot of rejections, persecutions and oppositions—This is because, the people will find it so difficult to believe, receive and embrace what God is doing through him. An apostle is also a great threat to the Dark Kingdom, therefore he is always under attack from terrible demons and powers and principalities (So, to be an apostle is to be able to withstand a billion hosts of demons and defeat them). Lastly, an apostle is not LAZY, he’s ready to put his life on the line for the sake of the Kingdom, when other believers have walked 10 miles preaching and are already tired, he is still strong enough to walk a thousand miles preaching the gospel…he’s not a man who loves comfort and convenience (he wasn’t trained that way), he is only comfortable and happy on the mission field, Why?—This is because the zeal of the Lord has consumed him.

2) BAPTISM OF DYING AND DEATH. We can’t talk about the calling of an Apostle without talking about dying and death. Jesus mentioned about the price of following Him and said whoever will come after Him must deny himself and take up his cross daily…apostles are people who have already laid down their lives, they are men who are dead to the flesh and this world, if other Christians are still struggling with crucifying their flesh, apostles no longer struggle with it because they already put the flesh where it belongs. Paul said “we carry in our bodies the dying of the Lord so that the life of Christ may flow through us (2 Cor. 4:10)” , he also said Death is working in them so that life can work in those they minister to (2 Cor. 4:12)…I now begin to wonder if the so called apostles we have today are men of constant dying to the flesh and this world, I said this because I have seen some of these apostles go into terrible sins and dark works without feeling any remorse in their hearts, these men were ready to do anything to gain fame, people’s approval and riches and wealth of this world—So, I began to wonder who called these apostles into ministry…Was it Jesus or they called themselves?!

We are going to see the manifestations of the greatest anointing, Power and Glory through the lives and ministries of genuine apostles of Christ because these men also carry the greatest deaths, dying and humility of Christ. To be continued.

THE OFFICE OF AN APOSTLE IS THE LEAST PLACE A NATURAL OR CARNAL MAN WOULD WANT TO ATTAIN, THIS IS BECAUSE IT IS A PLACE OF COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF ALL THAT YOU ARE AND WANTS TO BE, IT IS A PLACE WHERE YOUR OWN WILL NO LONGER EXIST…THIS CALLING WILL LITERALLY TURN YOU INTO NOTHING IN THIS WORLD AND YOU WILL ONLY BECOME SOMETHING IN GOD’S KINGDOM!!

EVEN JESUS AT A POINT WAS PLEADING WITH GOD IF THE CUP COULD PASS OVER HIM…HE WAS HOPING HE COULD AVOID DRINKING THE LAST PORTION OF THE CUP…DO YOU NOW THINK THE CALLING OF AN APOSTLE IS A JOKE?!!!…May God revive the Apostolic spirit and standards that is currently dead in the Church!!!! Amen.
