What possibly could be in my mind for me to say “I have nothing to lose?” But the truth is, I mean what I say. I have nothing to lose because I have already lost everything to Christ, the only thing I have now is what Christ gives or what He has to give. Now, let’s remember that Jesus Christ said “whosoever desires to save his life shall lose it but whosoever loses his life for my sake shall find it” – “losing your life” mentioned here is not only about dying, it involves forsaking and forgetting everything you counted so dear and important to you.
I discovered that many Christians today have become so glued and attached to what they have (which includes money, material possessions, jobs, family ties, position of power and authority, etc) such that they now live their lives to keep and enjoy those attachments, they are not ready to lose anything for the sake of Christ. Apostle Paul said he counted everything he had labored to achieve over the years as dung so that he can gain Christ – how many of you can give up your life’s works and savings just to follow Christ?! When it comes to giving, the reason why some of you think some amount of money is too big to give to God is because you have not yet lost everything to Christ. How many of you can forsake a good paying job to serve Christ and please Him?!
We need to understand what the Bible meant when it says “those who fight battles should not entangle themselves with the things of this world”, I learnt that there are some Military special agents who must separate themselves from every social and family ties which includes: husband, wife, child, relatives etc for them to properly serve their country – in fact, if the agency founds out that one of their soldiers is having an affair with someone outside the system, they might have to kill the person the soldier is dating. The truth is that, Satan can easily use those things we are so much attached to to afflict us, oppress us, weaken us, delay us, capture us and destroy us. Devil can easily get you frustrated, depressed, sad, and confused through those worldly things you have set your mind upon. If you have truly lost everything, you are bound to enjoy your relationship with the Lord and you will be unstoppable by darkness.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS LIKENED TO A TREASURE THAT SOMEBODY FOUND IN A FIELD AND HE WENT TO SELL EVERYTHING HE HAS JUST TO BUY THAT FIELD…HOW DEAR AND IMPORTANT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO YOU? CAN YOU LOSE EVERYTHING TO GAIN CHRIST?!!
As a Christian, stop thinking you are here to live for your children or spouse or anything – You are here to live for Christ and Him alone, the earlier you accept this, the better!!! Be free. Amen.
I watched a movie where the secret organization a soldier is working for had to build a burial ground and put the name of the soldier on it to show the public world that he is dead, whereas this soldier is not dead. They did this to him in order to cut off the influence of the outside world on him. In fact, every record in the public world shows that he is dead.
This is just the same thing that happen to a real Christian. This is what we mean whenever we say a Christian is dead to Self and the world.
