I am going to expose to you in this article the TRUTH that many of us don’t practice in our churches and individually. I will be answering questions like: Should men of God ask people for money?, Should Church leaders or pastors compel people to give?, Must we always collect “offerings or donations” at every church meetings?, How should you as a person give to bless men of God and the work of God?…!
Open your Bible with me to Exodus 35:4-5 & 20-21, you will see how Moses collected offerings from the people, Moses gathered the people together and told them what the Lord required of them according to the PRESENT NEED, The present need at that time was the building of the sanctuary or tabernacle, and when the people heard from Moses, Bible said they all departed from Moses (they did not put their hands in their pockets or bags to start giving at that time), they all went home and start thinking, working and praying on how they would be a blessing to the work of God…And eventually they began returning to Moses bringing with them what they have according to how the Holy Spirit ministered to their hearts – This is how we should collect offerings in our churches and ministries. We should allow people give according to how much they loved God and how the Spirit leads them, any offering that is not given willingly, cheerfully and lovingly is not acceptable before God, though your pastor or prophet might take it and use it but God will never take such from you!
I discovered that if we allow the Holy Spirit stir up the hearts of the people to give, we would have more than enough to sponsor the work of God, ministers and ministries (according to Exodus 36:6-7). It could be that it is just a single person that God will use to provide for His work…But today, we keep collecting all these tiny tiny offerings or donations at every church meetings hoping that we would have our needs met – This is not biblical! And in most cases, we don’t always have our needs met using this approach, because we don’t allow people give what they would have given if the Holy Spirit ministered to their hearts. It’s a pity that our church system has become something else, we have become so scientific and calculative, we no longer trust God to provide for our needs and His needs…What a faithless generation! If God can’t provide for His work, then it is not His work!!…To be continued.
GIVING TO GOD SHOULD BE SEEN AS AN OPPORTUNITY OR PRIVILEGE, THIS IS BECAUSE GOD CAN DO WITHOUT YOUR OFFERING OR MONEY (HE CAN CREATE WHATEVER HE NEEDED)!! BUT TODAY, PEOPLE NOW CONSIDER GIVING AS A WAY OF DOING GOD A FAVOR BECAUSE MINISTERS OF GOD HAVE ABUSE THE COLLECTION OF OFFERINGS!!!
We don’t give to buy a miracle from God, we give because we love God!!!! Amen.
