WARRIOR SKILLS – PRAYER

If you can remember, sometime ago, I taught on “The Anointing and Your skills”, since then, the Lord had laid it on my heart to teach you on Warrior Skills, we need to look at certain spiritual exercises and skills you can learn, do and master in order to become the warrior God is looking for at this time

I watched a movie sometime ago, in the movie was a young man who wanted to get revenge for an evil done against his parents, but every attempt he made to fight back wasn’t working, he always encounter shame and defeat after each attempt. Then a warrior lady looked at him, she held his shoulder and said “you will always be a loser until you go and get stronger”, and these words struck a cord in this guy and he went ahead to seek for the best swordsman in the land to train him! My point is, the story of this young man might be true of many of you here, Have you been trying to get victorious in a battle you aren’t trained to win?…And now, are you willing to be trained?!

A lot of people gets excited when they see or witness the results of prayer but many of us are not willing to pray results or miracles into manifestation, we are so lazy when it comes to prayer and we have come to a point in the body of Christ where we love to be prayed for than to pray by ourselves for ourselves, yes, we love someone to come and tell us what God is saying than for us to grow in prayer to where we can hear the voice of God by ourselves for ourselves! We are even willing to pay money to pastors and prophets and ask them to be praying for us while we sit down at home enjoying ourselves and having fun…Yes,your pastor can pray seriously for you in his own closet but a lot of the answers to his prayers for you will be limited if you are not also seriously praying

I personally have seen the wonders of prayer and I don’t joke with prayer, and I know how prayer works, therefore, I don’t deceive people who come asking for prayers, I tell them “God is going to give you breakthrough and victory in this situation but you are going to pray”. I can boldly tell you that real prayer work great wonders but you might never see any of these wonders if you are not determined to be victorious, if you are not willing to pray until something happen, nothing is likely to happen

Now, let’s define PRAYER. The meaning of prayer is actually very simple, when I was young in the church, I mean as a little child in the children’s department, they taught us that prayer means “Talking to God”, and if you are going to talk to God, 1) you must be a child of God, 2) you must be sure that God will hear you (meaning that you are not living in sin, because God will not hear a sinner except he repents), 3) You must believe without a single doubt that God is too able to answer your prayers even at that moment you are praying, 4) You must understand how to ask God to do things that you know agrees with the will of God, 5) You must understand what happens in the realm of the Spirit and how to operate in the realm of the Spirit

Psalm 66: 18. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Prayer is primarily a means of communication between Heaven and earth, God’s heart and your heart, the Spiritual realm and Physical realm, Visible realms and Invisible realms. It’s like the way you make phone calls and you can speak to someone very far away from your location and at the same time you can hear from the same person. However, there’s more to prayer than this, but this is the foundation of REAL PRAYER, So, before you think about praying at all, you must understand that you are speaking to Someone (God) who is hearing you in that very hour you start praying and that He (God) is faithful enough to respond to your prayers in so many ways

Hebrews 11: 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now, before I talk about the art of prayer, let me show you different ways through which God responds to your prayers, I know that the concern of many of us is on the aspect of “hearing from God”, the questions are, How do I hear back from God after talking to Him in prayer?, How do I even know if He has heard my prayers and if He has decided to answer my prayers?!

You don’t have to be a prophet to receive the responses to your prayers, it’s not necessary that you hear a voice after you have finished praying, God can get back to you in the following ways, 1) A sense of Victory. You can suddenly have an impression in your heart that you now have victory concerning your prayer request or prayer point, 2) Through the Scriptures. God can give you a Bible verse or passage to communicate His own mind to you, 3) God can perform a miracle. Though nothing happened at the time you prayed but God can perform a miracle the following day or week to show that He heard the prayer you prayed, 4) God can touch you. If you pray a prayer and immediately you begin to feel the Power of God touching and moving upon you, then it means God is responding to the prayer you are praying, 5) God can give a Prophecy. In the ancient times, people don’t just go to prophets seeking for prophecies, people pray to God and trust God to send His prophets to speak to them if necessary, in those days, they don’t expect a prophecy if they haven’t actually prayed, 6) God can respond through dreams and visions. God can show you dreams and visions that confirms that He has heard your prayers

Now, let’s talk about the Art of Prayer

If you want to make a phone call, you must have a good network coverage in the environment you are at that time, otherwise, calls can’t go through and messages won’t be able to enter your phone, the same thing applies to prayer. What makes prayer work, as in practically, are, 1) An atmosphere of Faith. If you made a prayer outside of faith, don’t expect that prayer to produce any results, it doesn’t matter the level of anointing present with you at that time nor the number of angels available in that place to produce the answers to your prayers, if God answered a prayer you made without faith, it’s just because God decided to be merciful at that time, Heaven operates by faith, and Heaven is no respecter of persons, if you trust in the anointing (because you can feel it) than in faith, you are going to lose both the results and the anointing as time goes by

And you have to continue to have faith until you see the results you are looking for, if you lose faith along the line, Heaven reserve the right not to still release your miracle to you. In fact, just as you connect your phone to the internet to download a video of a large file and if you shut down the internet when your downloading is at 65%, then you won’t have the full video, yes, that is how your miracle will be aborted once you shut down faith

We were in a prayer meeting some years ago and the Holy Ghost began to speak through prophecy to the entire church and the Lord was telling us that the reason why we haven’t been seeing the miracles we prayed for happening was because we stopped believing Him and stopped praying for those miracles to appear in the physical realm

Also, the Atmosphere of Faith is a progressive atmosphere. When you go to the doctor for malaria treatment, the doctor will give you pills and tell you that you have to take the pills for certain number of times in the day and for certain days for you to completely get rid of the malaria parasite from your blood, the same thing happens in faith environment! As your faith grows, your victory grows, as you keep using your faith, you keep building your miracle…God is not a magician, faith does not always bring instant results but it does give progressive results until your victory is perfect

1 John 5: 4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

This also implies that if you manifest A LIMITED FAITH, for instance, you only believe that God can remove the pain you are feeling in your body but can’t remove the disease causing the pain, then God is just going to do what you believe He can do for you, Or, you believe only doctors and surgeons can fix your problem and God cannot, then God will just fold His hands!

Therefore, limited faith will produce limited miracles or results!!

Mark 10: 49. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. 50. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 51. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. 52. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Why would Jesus be asking a blind man what He should do for him when He could see that the man is actually blind?! This shows that, it is what your faith wants that will be given unto you
