THE POWER OF LOVE
If there’s anything God taught mankind in a very practical and sacrificial way, that thing is LOVE. God decided to use the weapon of love to defeat the greatest darkness that has enslaved mankind for years, and we saw that this weapon worked so powerfully to bring us everlasting victory of which we are still enjoying till today. God had tried to use the Law to save mankind but it didn’t work, He also sent forth so many prophets and yet there was no success until He used Love—This shows that Love is a very powerful weapon that can ensure Salvation, Deliverance and Redemption.
Traditional history told us that Apostle John was the oldest of all the apostles of Jesus Christ, that is, he lived till a very good old age, and he was also the only apostle who died a normal death (though some people believed he never died), we were told that during one of those late years of his life, whenever he was being called upon to speak for few minutes in church meetings, he would just stood up from where he is sitting and say “Brethren, let us have love for one another”. And I began to wonder why was Apostle John kept talking about love and not anything else, then I remembered the statement of Jesus where He said “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love for one another”, this implies that we are not yet true Christians or disciples of Christ if we don’t demonstrate Love for ourselves. You see, most of the problems prevailing over the church of God today is happening because we no longer have love reigning in our midst. Maybe you don’t know that Love is more powerful than the most sweetest sermon and so greater than the greatest spiritual gift or anointing.
Many times people have asked me saying “What is your motivation for doing all that you are doing for the body of Christ?, you spend all these times and energy for people without even thinking about yourself, why?”, I do reply them saying “I do all these things because I love God and I love the people of God”, I found no motivation elsewhere than in LOVE. If I’m serving God because of what people will give me in return, then I am not a servant of Christ and I am not different from an hireling (John 10:13), an hireling is someone who is working so as to receive wages or salary or monetary reward, and if the one who hired him is not faithful to his payment, he can suddenly leave the job and look for a better place. I looked into the churches and I began to ask myself “Where is the love of Christ among us?”, I see a generation of Christians who have become so self centered and selfish such that we no longer care about others, we don’t even care whether other believers have food to eat or not, we oppress ourselves and try to use others to satisfy our carnal desires and pride—Do you think we will experience the same Glory and Revival and Power the early church experienced if we continue like this?! There are so many problems that doesn’t require fasting and prayers to get solved, all it required is LOVE…To be continued.
IF ALL THAT YOU CLAIMED TO BE DOING FOR GOD IS NOT DRIVEN BY YOUR LOVE FOR HIM AND HIS PEOPLE, THEN I DOUBT IF YOU WERE ACTUALLY CALLED BY GOD!!
PAUL WROTE THAT EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD NO LONGER LIVE FOR THEMSELVES BUT FOR THE ONE WHO DIED FOR THEM—ARE YOU NOT LIVING FOR YOURSELF?…HOW CAN YOU BE SO HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE SEEING YOUR FELLOW BROTHER SUFFERING WHILE YOU KNOW YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP HIM…ARE YOU NOT WICKED??!!! Where is your love?!!!! Amen.
