SHOULD I TURN STONES INTO BREAD?

Matthew 4: 3. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

I am going to be analyzing all the temptations that our Lord Jesus suffered from the devil, and bring out certain lessons or life applications from them. The first one we will be considering is “turning stones into bread”.

I want you to note that if Jesus cannot turn stones into bread at that time, Satan wouldn’t suggest that to him, Jesus had enough Power to perform such miracle at that time, but the question is: Why didn’t he do as Satan said?, some Bible scholars said he didn’t do the miracle because the instruction was coming from the devil and not from God—This can be true to some extent but I believe it’s more than this. Jesus refused to turn stones to bread because He wouldn’t use the Power of God, or Anointing, or Spiritual Gifts, or Spiritual Authority to satisfy or gratify his fleshly desires—This is the first principle of walking under the anointing.

Jesus answered the devil and said “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”, this shows that the life of a man is not consist in the bread or money he has but in God who is the Giver of Life, meaning that if you are running after bread and money such that you forget God and sinned against Him, you are the most foolish person ever and the wrath of God is waiting on you.

It’s so painful to see how certain “anointed men and women” are trying to turn stones to bread today, they have turned the work of God into a profit making business, it is no more about “how would God bless and transform the lives of these people?”, it is now about “how much dollars will I make out of today’s ministration?”…We now use the Power, Influence and Authority God gave us to oppress the people of God and to steal from them, we don’t think about how to become a blessing to our generation but our thoughts are all centered on making our names great and famous, and turning the anointing into money making machine.

In some decades ago, when you tell people that you are anointed, what they will check for is, how many souls have you won into the Kingdom of God, how many lives has your ministry transformed, and how many Revivals had happened through your ministry. But today, when you say you are anointed, people start looking at how expensive is the clothes you are putting on, how expensive is the car or jet you are using and how many houses or mansions have you built…Etc, we have substituted the power of God for riches, wealth, fame and material possessions!

I SEE SATAN SAYING THE SAME THING TO CHRISTIANS TODAY—IF THOU BE THE SON OF GOD, COMMAND THESE STONES TO BECOME BREAD…I HAVE SEEN MANY MINISTERS DESTROY WHAT GOD WAS TRYING TO DO THROUGH THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE AFTER THE BENEFITS THEY WOULD GAIN FROM THE PEOPLE!!

IF YOU OBEY THE VOICE OF GOD AND DO THE WILL OF GOD, GOD WILL SURELY REWARD AND BLESS YOU BEYOND YOUR EXPECTATIONS…If the reason why you are asking God to empower you and use you is to gratify your selfish ambitions and carnal desires, then God will never answer your prayer!!! To be a son of God is to live all your life for God and not turn yourself into a god!!!! Amen.
