SELF AMBITION MAKES YOU UNTHANKFUL

I remember sometime ago, I sat down and began to mention to God several things He hasn’t done for me, I began to complain and murmur about how limited my life was and how many good things I planned to achieve kept failing and I was so worried and sad, my mouth was too heavy to thank God. But while I was still in this darkness, the Holy Spirit began to correct me, He said “You think God has not been faithful to you and hasn’t done you well?, I am now going to mention to you everything God has done and is doing for you”, the Holy Spirit now began to mention them one by one, by the time He reached number 10, I told Him to stop and I began to cry and ask God to forgive me. I realized that my self ambition had blindfolded me from seeing all that God had done for me.

Maybe you are now committing the same sin I committed then, Why is it so difficult for you to thank God from the depth of your heart and with the whole of your heart?, Are you waiting for God to do certain things for you before you can accept that He is faithful and good to you?—If the answer is yes, then God might never do those things for you. If you can’t thank God for the things He had done, you won’t thank Him for any new things He does because your cravings will never stop, you will keep having “things God has not yet done”. I have seen how people got blessings they don’t deserve from God and yet were unthankful, these people knew in themselves that if they were to labour with all their strengths and qualifications and skills for years, they can’t have those blessings, but their self ambitions had blindfolded them, they thought it’s just normal to have received those blessings and helps from God.

What is self ambition?, Self ambition is a state of mind where you already have your life and days planned out, you have set for yourself goals you want to achieve, positions you want to attain and the kind of person you want to become. It’s a state of mind where you strongly aspire to attain a level of self satisfaction and self glory, Now, the question is, Should you as a Christian have self ambitions?, I grew up to think the answer to this question is Yes but I was wrong. I later saw in the Bible that it is a sin for Christians to have self ambition (I wasn’t taught this in the church, I learnt it personally from the Lord), in fact, every of the disciples Jesus called to follow Him were told to forget about themselves and about whatever they had wanted to become, some of them were called out of their businesses and jobs to be with Jesus and to follow Him. I saw from the Bible how Christianity means a call to stop becoming what you want to become and to start becoming what Jesus wants you to be, and this calling is meant to affect every aspect of your life, this calling is supposed to decide what you should do with every hour of your life, the course you go to study at University, what you do with the certificate and qualifications you earned from school, who you should get married to, how you should make money and what you should do with money, etc.

You see, some of your worries, sadness and sorrows are attached to your self ambitions and not to God’s plans for your life, if you had surrendered your ambitions to Jesus, you would be happy or more happier than you are now. When I thought many things were wrong in my life, God told me that nothing is wrong, He said “Your life is just exactly the way I want it to be at this time”. Some of you are comparing your life with that of others, See, if you continue doing that, you will keep multiplying your sorrows because God’s purpose and plans for your life is unique to you and not the same with others. You should follow Jesus and trust Him and let Him show you what He wants to do with your life and how you will get there.

IF YOU BELIEVE AND ACCEPT THE TRUTH IN THIS MESSAGE, IT WOULD CHANGE YOUR PRAYER LIFE AND RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD FOREVER…YOU WILL NO LONGER TELL GOD WHAT YOU WANT TO BECOME BUT YOU WILL ASK HIM TO CHANGE YOU INTO THE PERSON HE WANTS YOU TO BE!!

ALSO, YOU WILL JOYFULLY THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING HE GIVES YOU AND DOES FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU CAN’T GET THEM FROM ANYWHERE ELSE BUT FROM THE LORD AS YOU AREN’T FULFILLING YOUR AMBITIONS BUT GOD’S PURPOSES!!…This also implies that if God refuses to give you certain things (or to give you at the time you wanted them), it must be because of His purpose for your life.
