PROPHETIC EXCESSES

You know, I have seen both the good side and the bad side of the prophetic ministry, and at some point when I saw the bad side, it made me almost lose interest in the prophetic ministry—Prophetic excesses include the misuse and overuse of prophetic gifts, especially when your prophetic gifts no longer bring glory and profit to Jesus and His Kingdom. I was there even before the trend of “CAN I PROPHESY?” started, and I began to ask myself “Do I have to ask people if I can prophesy to them? Was that how Jesus and all other prophets in the Bible did their ministries?”, It’s so painful that we have spoiled the identity of the Prophetic Ministry today and it’s making it difficult for the real prophets to call themselves prophets because once you say that you are a prophet, people will start expecting “some rubbish” from you.

Firstly, I want you to know that you don’t manifest prophetic ministry by apology, meaning that you don’t ask people to come and hear you prophesy to them, you don’t ask people to allow you prophesy to them—The prophetic ministry commands a divine authority that doesn’t apologize. To prophesy means to speak forth “what God is saying” to His people or to those you have been sent to, and this implies that you are not supposed to prophesy when God is not speaking to you or through you, as well as when God is not sending you to deliver a prophetic message (even if you already have the message), So, a prophetic message is not something you ask people if they will accept or not, you just have to open your mouth and declare it to them whether they will believe or not, prophesying is similar to preaching the gospel, inasmuch as your audience didn’t put up a law that says you can’t stand and speak to them about God, therefore, what you need to do is to go to them and tell them what God is saying or has sent you to tell them. Now, this is what happens when you prophesy apologetically, there’s going to be a RESTRICTION on your spirit and you won’t be able to flow in the prophetic gifts as you should, this is because you would want to prophesy things that will please the people (and the Holy Spirit does not always say things that people want to hear), also because you are trying to put yourself in charge of your spiritual gifts whereas it is the Holy Spirit that is supposed to be in charge. If you continue to prophesy by apology, I can assure you that you won’t grow in your prophetic gifts and your prophetic ministry will suffer deadly traps of darkness and demonic pollutions.

Another thing is, trying to enslave and control people with prophetic gifts. You need to know that we are no longer under the Old Testament dispensation, the dimension of ministry of an Old Testament prophet is not the same with that of a New Testament prophet, in this dispensation of Grace, every believer already have the Holy Spirit in them for guidance, direction and revelations, So it is wrong for a prophet today to be taking the position of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives, What a New Testament prophet does is to water, nurture and build upon what the Spirit of God is already doing in the lives of people. Don’t allow people to keep coming to you for guidance and direction, you are supposed to lead them to the Lord, you are supposed to teach them how they too can fellowship with the Lord and hear from Him…there are many times I do give people spiritual assignments like fasting, praying, Bible study etc so that they can get God for themselves…I refused to take the position of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives—That is prophetic slavery. Also, there are people who prophesy without wisdom, it is not everything you see that you say, and there are ways of saying the things you see so that God would be glorified at the end. There are some things I saw some years ago which if I had said them, I would have caused serious division and confusion in my church…there’s a great need for wisdom in the prophetic ministry.

LASTLY, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL TELL YOU THINGS LIKE “GOD SAID YOU SHOULD GIVE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR YOU SEE HIS HAND IN YOUR SITUATION”—THIS IS NOT PROPHECY, IT IS WITCHCRAFT. IT IS BETTER TO ASK PEOPLE TO HELP YOU JUST AS A POOR MAN OR NEEDY WILL DO THAN TO USE THE NAME OF GOD WRONGLY—GOD IS TOO TERRIBLE TO JOKE WITH!!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT PAINS ME THE MOST IN THIS MATTER?, IT IS THE FACT THAT PEOPLE WILL STILL GO AFTER THESE PROPHETIC EXCESSES WHILE THEY KNOW THAT GOD IS NOT INVOLVED IN THOSE THINGS…This generation don’t want the truth at all, all we want is lies and liars!!! Repent!!!! Amen.
