FAME IS NOT SUCCESS

I saw that majority of people today have been overtaken by fame, we just fall in love with anything and anyone that is famous not considering the spirit behind such fame. Also, some of us just want to be famous by all means, we have been deceived to believe that anything that is not famous enough is not successful. But I will like to tell you that it is possible for something or someone to be well-known all over the world and acceptable by all men, and yet still not successful in the sight of God. So, it is better to seek success than to seek fame…God is not looking for your fame but for your success in what He has called you to do.

I thank God that I have learnt this principle earlier in life, otherwise I could have been deceived and consumed by the spirit of “fame seeking”. There were certain brethren that we started ministry together but today they are busy on the path of fame and not on the path of success, they had gone into things that is contrary to the will of God and they felt comfortable because people are following them and they are gaining fame. For instance, if I am posting on Facebook because I want so many people to like and comment on my posts, then I am a FAILURE and I can never fulfill my calling that way – So, it doesn’t matter whether my posts are getting liked or loved, what matters is: Are people getting blessed and transformed through my messages?, Is the kingdom of God profited through my ministry?!

Another thing we need to note is that, if we do what God has called us to do successfully, we will surely make impact in our generation. I discovered that people love successful people, nobody wants to follow a failure, which means if you take time to be successful in what you do (be it Business, Talents, Trade or Calling), people will surely follow you and seek to learn from you – Bible says seeth thou a man who is diligent in his business, he shall stand before kings and not before mere men.

I was listening to a secular song yesterday while on the street, and as the song was playing, the Lord told me that the singer died because he went into contract with the devil, he sold his soul to the devil for fame, sex and money, and he eventually got all that he wanted but died very young. Devil can give you fame but he can’t give you eternal life, in fact, Jesus did not promise us fame, He said we would be hated by the world, So, if the world is generously liking you, praising you and celebrating you, then it is more likely that you have slipped away from the Faith.

YES, GOD CAN GIVE PEOPLE FAME BECAUSE HE WANTS THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW HIM THROUGH THEM BUT THAT DOESN’T MAKE FAME THE BASIS OF SUCCESS!! OUR PURPOSES IN THIS WORLD ARE NOT THE SAME, IF YOU MAKE UP FAME FOR YOURSELF AT THE EXPENSE OF SUCCESS, YOU WILL SOON COME DOWN – Yes, you will eventually lose the fame!!! Let us follow after what is godly and not what is famous. Amen.
