BIBLE STUDY SERIES : DANGERS OF DESPISING GOD’S GRACE (2)

6) STAGNATION AND DOWNFALL: Stagnation means that you are not moving forward. God has already provided everything that you need in life but when you neglected the grace God has provided for you and you went ahead to do your own thing your own ways, you should expect stagnation and downfall. There are some people who God has been calling for ministry or to gather people and teach them the word of God, or go out and preach the Gospel and win souls but they have neglect the calling and are now complaining that they are poor, that their lives are stagnant, whereas they are the one causing it. When you disobey the word of God, many of your prayers won’t be answered and you will begin to suffer because you are not doing what God has demanded of you. I discovered that majority of the setbacks, hardships, and sorrows that we go through as Christians are self-inflicted. Most times the problems we are facing are not caused by the devils but by disobeying God’s demands. We need to check our lives to align with the word of God to avoid self-inflicted situations, May the Lord help you to obey what God demand from your life.

7) POVERTY, SHAME AND DISGRACE.

If you despise God’s grace you will experience poverty, shame, and disgrace. Now let me start with poverty.

You must learn to trust God for your needs and daily bread, otherwise you will not be free from poverty, it doesn’t matter if you are salary earner or you are a businessperson. I have discovered that if your trust is not in God and God alone you will still be poor. If you trust your salary you will not exceed the level of your salary. If you trust in the income of your business, you will not grow beyond the level of that income. If you trust in a rich person in your family or someone close to you and believe that your provisions will come from that person, you will still be poor. You must trust in God alone for your daily bread and remove all your trust from everything else, that is how you will overcome poverty. The purpose of giving tithe, offerings and sacrificial giving are good, however, having absolute trust in God is the foundation of riches and wealth. That is, you trust God to the point that if God doesn’t help you, you will die in poverty—That is what is called complete or absolute trust in God.

I have seen a lot of Christians spend many years in poverty and they feel like God is unfair or God is the one trying to deal with them or they feel like God is angry with them and refused to forgive their sins, not knowing that it is their lack of faith that put them in poverty. The Lord told me one day that “ministry is not the source of livelihood”. I did a post on that revelation on Facebook. I was shocked about what He said, He explained to me that ministry is not a source to depend on for survival. Then I asked God, “What about the scripture that says “those that serve at the altar will eat from the altar?” But the Lord answered me this way: “That is true, but what if the altar couldn’t provide food for the minister or what if the people that supposed to bring food on the altar don’t have food or refused to provide food to the altar?”, Is the minister going to die of hunger?

During the lockdown there were so many ministers that were affected because many of them were depending on people’s provisions on the altar and not fully depending on God, they didn’t learn to depend on God and God alone for their needs, So, it was extremely difficult for them to survive. The Lord was telling me that when He said that they should give no landed property to the Levites, it means that He (God) would be their inheritance. God gave the Levites the greatest possession by giving Himself to them; meaning that He (God) is going to provide for all their needs by Himself. He said that Himself is the source of income for His ministers and not the ministry. When I looked into the Scripture, I saw that certain people decided to trust God fully and not in people, they trusted God to the point that God did creative miracles to feed them, example is Elijah. We must learn this principle to stop being poor. By revelation, I discovered that terrible days are coming upon our generation where what will determine our survival will be miracles, because all you are depending on will fail you, like your government, your source of income, your businesses will fail you. We will only depend on God at that time, Therefore, learn to depend on God from now and forever. Stop depending on what your hand can give you; it is very important to learn that before it becomes too late to depend on God and God alone. May God help us, AMEN.

SHAME and DISGRACE: When you fail to depend on God’s Grace, shame will be inevitable together with disgrace. Obedience lead to great victories but disobedience leads to shame and disgrace. If you are minister of God and you are so full of yourself, you so much depend on your anointing and strength and then people invited you to come and preach and you feel like you are anointed and gifted and if you pray, miracles will happen and you fail to depend on God, then God is not going to do anything and nothing is going to happen when you pray, then you will be shamed. Because you failed to depend on God, He will put you in shame publicly to show you that failure to depend on Him automatically invites shame. That is just an example among many. We must learn to depend on God. David wouldn’t have killed Goliath, if he didn’t depend on God’s grace, he was even praising God before the enemy, he was glorifying God in the face of goliath. He was not talking of himself, but he was glorifying God. Let us learn to depend on God’s grace and not on our own strength.

8) YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SALVATION, CALLING AND GIFT.

Ref: Mathew25v29 “For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have more: but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away”

We shall take from those who don’t have enough and give it to those that have more. God is going to take off gifts from those that are gifted but they are not using it and give to those that are working tirelessly for the move of God’s kingdom. He has been doing it for many years now. I know some ministers that were replacements because those that were originally gifted to do the works despised the grace and God raised up others to replace them. My prayer is that may God not replace you! May you fulfill your calling and destiny! May you make use of what God has gifted you with!!

9) INSTANT JUDGEMENT: Acts 5v3-5 “Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!” As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.”

They thought they could manipulate or deceive the Holy Spirit. They went to sell their properties and kept part of the money and brought the other part to the apostle but because they lie, God judged them instantly and they died. When we take the grace of God for granted, or begin to act like serpent, like an hypocrite, it brings instant judgement from God like terrible disease that won’t be cured and sudden death. This kind of judgment is irreversible. Some might not die instantly but God can destroy things in their lives, That is why the Bible said that there is no forgiveness when you sin against the Holy Spirit. When you lie against the Holy Spirit or you try to deceive a good system that is helping souls in the Body of Christ, God can judge you as he did against Ananias and Sapphira. You may not die instantly, but God can refuse to answer your prayers until you die. God has judged many churches because of such sins.

10) ETERNAL DAMNATION.

“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8 NLT.

It is a situation whereby you are eternally doomed; you are sentenced to the lake of fire; you are eternally separated from God. That is another reward of despising the grace of God. My prayer for you is that you will not be doomed! AMEN. I pray that you repent quickly and amend your ways before the Lord to please Him so you will not be doomed in Jesus name, Amen.
