HOW TO PRAY FOR LONG HOURS

Geetings brethren, I would like to teach you on How To Pray For Long Hours

 

The first thing I must say is this, If you get rid of the hindrances and distractions to LONG HOURS PRAYER, you will realize that it’s so simple and easy to be in prayer for many hours. I saw that the enemy has lined up a lot of hindrances in the hearts and minds of men and also in their physical environments to ensure that they don’t walk in the Spirit. Much of these hindrances centers around “Cares of this world”. See, if you can’t be in the Spirit always, then you can’t be able to pray for long hours, you will surely get tired

 

1) SEE PRAYER AS A FELLOWSHIP AND COMMUNION AND NOT AS A TASK. Some people are fond of setting time for their personal prayer sessions, they say something like “I’m going to pray for 4 hours today” and then they keep checking the clock at every point while the prayer is going on—Believe me, that’s a sign of immaturity. Stop setting time for your prayers, Do you set time for communicating with or spending time with your spouse or someone you love? No. Prayer is supposed to be a product of your deep love for God and hunger to be with God, it’s something you should be very excited about, it’s a moment you should not want to miss…something like “I can’t wait to talk to God”, “I can’t wait to be in God’s presence, I really missed fellowship with Him”. Your words shouldn’t be “I have to pray”, it should be “I love to pray”

 

Psalm 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

 

David was such a man who don’t want to ever leave God’s presence, he was a man who desires to engage with God at anywhere he finds himself and at anytime. He loved the Lord so much. Someone you love so much will always be in your heart everywhere you go and you will always want to be with the person. The time you went on your knees to pray shouldn’t be the time you started praying, you should build an uninterrupted connection with God with your mind and spirit and let it not be that it is when you go into physical active prayers that you will now try to connect with God and heaven. Let it be that you are always connected

 

It is very easy to set a piece of cloth that has been soaked with highly inflammable fuel on fire than another piece of cloth that isn’t soaked. Therefore, being in the Spirit or being spiritual always is what will prepare you for long hours active prayers, when you are full of the Spirit, the moment you go into your prayer closet to start praying, there shall be explosion of Fire and the Holy Ghost will begin to help you to pray immediately.

 

It’s funny to see some believers and ministers of God trying to fake what cannot be faked. If your prayers don’t carry fire, everyone in the spiritual world will know it, even though you might be able to convince your fellow humans that “you can pray” but demons and angels will know when your prayers are powerful and fireful and when they are not. I made up my mind that I will never pray prayers that are void of power and fire whether personally or publicly, and with God’s help, I attained it

 

Therefore, if you have spent much hours of your day carnally, if your thoughts, actions, feelings and emotions have been carnal and worldly since the beginning of today and then you now want to embark on long hours prayers in the next hour, you will definitely find it so difficult. And while in prayer, you might have to use the next one or two hours to reconfigure your mind and thoughts to align with the Holy Spirit, and sometimes you might not be able to recover at all and the whole prayer session would be so dry and fireless

 

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

2) BE DISCIPLINED—SEE WEAKNESS AND TIREDNESS AS AN ENEMY . Sometimes, I pray like Moses and like Elijah, the Holy Ghost can make me position myself in a certain posture for a long time and I have to remain in that position until the Spirit says “it’s enough”. You should have read the place in the Scripture where Moses lifted up his hand to heaven on the mountain and as long as his hand remains up, the Israelites won over Amalekites but whenever his hand goes down, the Amalekites would prevail. This shows that Moses’ hand was controlling the angelic forces of God to assist the Armies of Israel. In the same manner, I had been in prayers where my hands have to be raised up for a very long time, and I noticed that every time I focus on the PAINS, I get weak quickly but whenever I focus on the Strength and Power of God, I get very strong. So, I see pain as an enemy and I fight it

 

Note that your body was first of all a spiritual creature before it became what it is now, when Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, their bodies were more spiritual than physical and this was the reason they didn’t know they were naked, they could see that they were covered by God’s Glory and they weren’t ashamed. The Lord told me recently that the body is under the influence and control of the Spirit and the Spirit can make the body do things it can’t naturally do, meaning that the Spirit can make your body be on its feet for the next 9 or 10 hours and you won’t be tired and won’t have any health problem

 

The Spirit can make you shout very loud in prayer for several hours and your voice and throat won’t break down. The Spirit can make you go without food and water for days and you won’t feel hungry and dehydrated

 

Now, if the Holy Ghost can do wonders like these, Why haven’t you been experiencing those wonders?, the answer is simple, it’s because you are lazy. It’s because you are not disciplined, you can’t put your body under the control of your spirit and God’s Spirit, it’s because you believe your body more than you believe the word of God

 

The Lord showed me how there’s a terminal point to cross to the realm of the Supernatural, and He told me that “Until your human strength is completely exhausted, you won’t cross the terminal point into the supernatural”, this is where I realized that Faith is not enough, I discovered how I must pray all my strength out for me to visibly and practically cross into the realm of God’s Strength. So, it is when I am physically so weak and tired to pray that I always enjoy long hours prayers

 

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

 

In conclusion, if you don’t discipline your body, you won’t give the Spirit the chance to show you wonders He can do inside your body and through your body. And believe me, I can list out to you more than 1000 issues of life you can never overcome except through long hours prayers in God’s presence. Your body is ready to limit your entire life and destiny forever if you always give it what it wants.
