SOME TRUTHS ABOUT TONGUES

I realized that the present church have so much abused the gift of tongues and that is why God has blindfolded us from knowing the mysteries about the gift of tongues (which is also called speaking in tongues). I’m going to share with you one of the mysteries I know about tongues, hoping that it might help some of you grow in the manifestation of the gift.

1) YOU ARE SPEAKING OUT SPIRITS AND LIFES. In John 6:63, Jesus said the words He spoke to the people are spirit and life, the same applies to speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit give you utterance. Tongues are fragments of what you already have inside of you, they are the expression of the Spirit and the Life you have on your inside as a Christian. It can be likened to you pouring out water from a bottle and the water keeps coming out without finishing, meaning that the bottle keeps filling up as the water keeps coming out. This is what Jesus meant when He said “out of your belly or heart or spirit shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38)”, that is, a lot of RIVERS shall come out of one spirit. Now, whenever you speak or pray in tongues, you should not focus on the words or language you are saying, you should focus on something deeper, you should focus on the Spirit and the Life inside you that is expressing Himself. I’ve seen some believers who always want to “sound nice” when speaking in tongues, they want the words they say to make sense to their ears or the ears of others, this is very wrong. How the tongues sound is not important, what is important is where the tongues are coming from and the level of Life and Spirit the tongue carries.

2) TONGUES ARE CREATIVE INSTRUMENTS. The Holy Spirit is able to create things in the earth through tongues, you might say “God already finished creating everything”, that might be true of some things but not of everything. The word “creation” is deeper than you think, it’s beyond physical things, it involves situations, events, actions and attitudes, creation involves why people think the way they think, what should happen in time and what should not happen, what should happen to you and what should not happen to you, etc. God won’t surrender to the evil systems in this world in order to achieve His desires, God will create His own systems and situations and events to make His desires happen in the earth. Therefore, when we pray in tongues, a power is coming from our spirits and the power is creating the will of God in the physical realm and that will of God is prevailing at the same time. Speaking in tongues can literally reverse what the devil has programmed to happen to you in a day and can undo what the devil had already done—It is the creative Power of the Holy Spirit that does these things.

THE GIFT OF TONGUES TOGETHER WITH OTHER SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE VERY SACRED AND WE SHOULD HANDLE THEM WITH GODLY FEAR, DON’T THINK YOU CAN JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND SPEAK IN TONGUES ANYHOW—FOCUS ON WHERE THE TONGUES COME FROM AND LET THE HOLY SPIRIT TAKE THE LEAD!! JUST AS THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT UNDER YOUR CONTROL, SO ALSO ARE ALL THE GIFTS AND ABILITIES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, THEY ARE NOT UNDER OUR CONTROL!! Amen.
