FAITH WORKS

A Sister in my church told us of an experience she had while she was in Port Harcourt, she said she belonged to a prayer warrior group and the Church was planning to hold an open air crusade in the area. So, she and other prayer warriors have been praying that God should give them a good weather for the crusade—That there should not be rain throughout the programme. However, the pastor in charge was so surprised and disappointed to see the so called prayer warriors who had prayed for no rain coming to the crusade venue with umbrellas on their hands—The pastor shouted and said “Oh my God, did you not ask God to give us good weather, what are you coming to do here with umbrellas??”. This story is the picture of so many Christians today, we claim that we have faith but our works shows the opposite.

By “Faith Works”, I mean the actions, steps and decisions we take because we already have faith in our hearts or spirits. Bible told us that faith without works is dead (James 2:17), meaning that faith do come with works and you have to do those works of faith to really get the results or answers you are expecting from Heaven. And if you separate works from faith, then that faith you think you have is dead and impotent. Now, when we talk about Faith Works, we are not talking about “your own works” because I have heard some people say “if I want God to bless me financially, then I should go start a business or get a job”—As good as this is, it is not a work of faith. A work of faith is that thing you do to show that you believed what God had said in His Word or by His Voice (when the miracle has not happened yet). I was encouraging a Sister sometime ago, she said she felt the Lord is telling her to stop taking HIV medications because she believes in God’s healing Power, I said if that is what your faith says, then you should stop and trust God, and some few months ago, she said she went for test and she’s now HIV negative! Now, I’m not suggesting that you stop taking medications but what I’m saying is that, if you follow the Faith Works, you are not likely to miss your miracle.

The woman with the issue of blood in the Scriptures (Luke 8:43-44) did something before she got healed instantly, her faith says “go and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment and you will be healed”, she went out immediately, pressed through the crowds and did that work of faith and got healed instantly—She didn’t just sat down somewhere waiting that an angel will suddenly appear to heal her, she REACHED OUT in faith and got the miracle. Today, I’ve seen Christians who had great faith but they killed the faith themselves because they add no works to it…You said you believe God wants to use you for healing and deliverance but there are quite a lot of people who need healing in your environment and you never go out to pray for them for healing! You want God to give you financial prosperity but your hands are so closed toward giving, how would you receive if you don’t give?! You asked God to send you destiny helpers but after prayer you start making phone calls asking people for help—If you knew you could get help yourself, why did you asked God to send you help?!!

YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE THOUGHTS YOU THINK, WORDS YOU SAY AND THINGS YOU DO AFTER PRAYER BECAUSE THEY COULD DESTROY THE POTENCY OF YOUR FAITH AND HINDER THE ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYERS!!

ABRAHAM DID NOT BECOME THE FATHER OF FAITH UNTIL HE WAS WILLING TO KILL HIS BELOVED SON ISAAC BECAUSE GOD SAID SO…LET US STOP DECEIVING OURSELVES, IF WE BELIEVE THAT GOD IS FAITHFUL, LET US PRODUCE WORKS THAT PROVES SO!!! God is not a liar, don’t stop doing the works of faith until you see His Glory!!!! Amen.
